Founding Kis Uni

Getting myself accepted to 4 top institutes of the country, and on the other hand, seeing my classmates struggling to get into a single university was heartbreaking. My elation and sense of accomplishment weren’t mutual, I couldn’t let it out. I just felt guilty. Apart from that, I was impotent and thought of myself as a terrible friend. The problem with my peers was not that they were less talented or didn’t have in them what it took, but it was a lack of awareness. Unaware to such an extent, they didn’t know until the application deadlines passed and whose deadlines hadn’t passed, there was simply not enough time left to prepare for entrance tests. Sitting idle at home with almost nothing to do before I’m off to university, and on the contrary, my friends going through a tough phase, made me restless and anxious. I realized it wasn’t just them who got unlucky, there were numerous others too.

Started a medium blog with an aim to share whatever knowledge that my mind stored. I published the second article and called it a night. In my usual moment of self-reflection before sleeping, an idea popped out for a startup which we now call ‘Kis Uni’.

My elder brother found my thoughts worth pursuing. Getting a boost in my confidence, I contacted my like-minded friends who are now working alongside me.

Being altruistic, I got addicted to that satisfaction you feel when you help someone. For the same reason, I started working as a volunteer intern at Znotes. If I say Znotes proved to be a great inspiration, that wouldn’t be wrong. Our structure is quite similar to Znotes’. The simple idea of a teenager sharing his notes that went on to impact millions worldwide was fascinating. This confirmed the statement “Everyone starts somewhere” for me. If there hadn’t been Znotes, there would have been no Kis Uni.

The response and appreciation from our peers have been overwhelming on our launch. We’re more motivated to work and there have been lots of people joining our team and volunteering. Loads of new content is coming up!

I’m very hopeful that Kis Uni will be able to create an impact as we all have poured our hearts for a noble cause of playing our part in ending educational inequality. I’m very eager to know how much of an impact we’re able to create. Help us on our this mission by joining our team!
